As the weather gets warmer and now June is in full swing it is time to start looking at getting our garden summer ready! As it is only our second year with a proper garden there is still an element of novelty, and I like nothing more than browsing the shops and internet looking at all the lovely things I can buy. I love putting wish lists together (any excuse to browse some more!) so today I give you my Summer Garden Wishlist.

I love all the different string lights you can get for the garden at the moment, my neighbours have some colour changing ones and they are just so pretty! We plan to get a few sets and attach them to our fence. I love these ones, they have an industrial feel to them, and I am still a little bit in love with that trend.
One of the things I found last year, was I never felt completely relaxed. We have a lovely rattan table and chairs but I would love a couple of sun loungers for me and James this year.
Kids swing/slide set
We looked at buying the boys a swing and slide set last year but ran out of funds after doing the rest of the garden. I’m sure it wont be long before the conversation crops up again. You can spend an absolute fortune on these sets, but there are some super affordable ones out there too!
I love watching the boys playing and having fun in the garden, but I have to say my favourite time in the garden is the evening once the boys are in bed. It is so peaceful. But by 9pm usually one of us are cold and insist we go inside. A fire pit could rule out that problem and allow James and I to sit outside with a glass of something chilled for much longer.
There are a couple of reasons I want a Lay-Z-Spa. One because, well, who doesn’t? and two because when we stayed in a cottage in Norfolk for my mum’s 50th, Hayden was instantly calmed once he got into the hot tub. I’m hoping this will have the same effect on him and help his evening routine get back on track.
One of my favourite things about the summer is BBQ’s! Whether that’s with friends/family or just on our own. I like to have plastic table ware for outside. I have 3 boys, it is a must really! This set from John Lewis is gorgeous! Nice and bright, which in my book are the only colours allowed in the summer!
