A couple of weeks ago, you may remember I wrote a post about whether I should combine my 2 blogs (here, if you missed it!).
After spending hours creating a brand new website and going self hosted for Little Monkey Hut, I realised I just did not have the time to keep up and maintain two blogs without it drastically effecting home life. I am already sucked into blogging, and spend nearly all of my child free time (evenings/naps/daddy’s day off) working on things. So to find the time to do it for two blogs would mean it would effect ‘mum time’. And I would come to resent blogging if I allowed it to do that.
I think as I was writing the post, I had already decided the answer in my head, however after such lovely comments and pieces of advice, I came to a firm decision.
Whilst the boys are still at home, there is just no way I could give Little Monkey Hut the attention it needs and deserves. Talking about our journey to an ASD diagnosis is something I so desperately want to talk about, but not necessarily independently. I have said it before, we are about more than just Autism, so talking about only Autism feels weird. But not talking about it at all, trying to wait for the chance to write about it on Little Monkey Hut just wasn’t working for me either. I found I was hardly ever talking about Hayden on here, and that just isn’t fair on him. I cant isolate him because I cant find the time to write about him somewhere else.
So the time has come. ‘Time to combine!’
It is time to bring our journey to Sons, Sand & Sauvignon.
So what does that mean for this blog?
Well, nothing will change. The design, the name, the look, the feel will all remain the same. I will simply be adding another topic to my growing range of content.
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some of my old Little Monkey Hut posts to bring everyone up to speed. Starting with Hayden’s Story, which will be posted in the next day or two.
It won’t happen all at once, it is important I don’t bombard this blog with old content, so it will be a slow progression. Once all the posts are transferred over I will then do a little update for all of you who have been following Little Monkey Hut from the beginning.
Eventually I will delete the content from the Little Monkey Hut website, but I shall continue to own the domains so if I ever choose to develop some of my earlier ideas I still have the name.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of my Little Monkey Hut readers. You have been so supportive! I hope you continue to follow our journey here on this blog. And for those less familiar with Little Monkey Hut, I hope you enjoy reading more about my biggest monkey!
