Our Dream Family Cruise 2

When I was around 7 or 8 years old my mum and dad took myself and my sister on a 7 night Mediterranean family cruise. We flew over to Palma in Majorca and got transferred to the port where a huge, luxurious cruise ship was waiting to pick us up for a week of fun. Even though I was young it is probably one of my favourite holidays and is still etched into my memory bank. I remember visiting different countries each day, dressing up for fancy dinners, lots of activities in the evening and of course my sisters lack of being able to keep her food in her stomach the second she took off her sea sickness band.

I have since firmly believed that cruises are indeed for families and the stereotype of cruises only being for retired people is in fact just that, a stereotype. My husband however hasn’t always been as keen on the idea. He thinks the kids would be bored and that a huge cruise ship would not be safe for our little climbing monkey, Hayden. Luckily though I think I may have won him around.

Our Dream Family Cruise

Knowing what type of cruise is for you is probably the biggest and most important decision to make when choosing your holiday. This is where Iglu Cruise comes in. The most handy website I have come across that represents a huge amount of different cruise lines all in one place. Including well known names like P&O, Carnival, Disney & Royal Caribbean.

To be honest it didn’t take me long to come across our dream cruise line. Of course it is no other than the Disney cruise. I have always LOVED Disney and I have definitely passed that love down to my monkeys. Going on a Disney Cruise would be the ultimate in family cruising in my eyes. With the amazing shows, service and magic that Disney is well known and loved for along with being able to have adventures somewhere different each day would just be an amazing experience for the entire family.

The Disney cruise line offers a variety of different itineraries including the Caribbean (my personal favourite option) and many of their trips include a visit to Disney’s own private island Castaway Cay.

I really would love to allow my family a holiday filled with the magic of Disney whilst still having the opportunity to explore different parts of the world. This cruise holiday is definitely going on the bucket list!

Have you ever thought of taking your family on a cruise? What would be your ideal cruise?

This is a collaborative post with Iglu Cruise, however all words are my own.
