Well you lovely readers, I have some very exciting news! There are changes on the horizon for Sons, Sand & Sauvignon, and I am thrilled to be finally sharing my plans with you.
When I changed my blog last Autumn, I was adamant I wanted to go against the grain of your usual parenting blog and make my blog a family lifestyle and wedding blog. Adding in a wedding section was really important to me. You may have guessed by now I absolutely LOVE weddings, and I have spent the past year exploring more into my passion and have started to earn money (albeit a little) from what I love doing. But something has been niggling away at me for a long while now. And it is time to do something about it.
Why make changes?
I love my blog and everything about it, but I am struggling to get past certain stat figures, things are bugging me and my wedding content isn’t getting the exposure it needs and deserves.
My mum made a comment ages ago now: “I love your blog Clare, I’m not really fussed with the wedding stuff, but I am so proud of what you are doing.” That has sat with me since. Every time I post something wedding related I question whether my regular readers actually care. I wonder whether I am wasting my time spending hours researching and putting ideas together.
Well of course I’m not wasting my time, it is something I love and something I wish to continue pursuing. But I don’t think Sons, Sand & Sauvignon is the place to do it. It feels like it needs its own place. Somewhere I can really expose and promote it to people that want to see it. Couples planning their wedding. Brands and companies that are aimed at the wedding industry. Suppliers that are relevant to my niche.
Exciting News! Changes on the horizon…
I decided it was time to make some changes. Make my current blog bigger, better, more organised and start aiming for the future.
So what is changing?
No more wedding Content-
The biggest change you will see on Sons, Sand & Sauvignon is that the wedding content will be gone! My budget beautiful series will remain, as it was a series created for this blog, and it is only right on the brides that it included that it stays here.
A new look-
Over the next week or so you will see small changes with my header, my sidebar and a few other little design tweaks. Here is a little sneak peek at my new header. What do you think?
More refined content-
I am going to try and stick to some form of schedule. I still plan to post daily as and when I can but there will be more structure and routine to my posts. I need to find the time to maintain two blogs now so will have to up my organisation levels to ensure both are successful.
Spectrum Sunday will now become a fortnightly linky-
One of the problems with having a linky with a specific subject, is sometimes there isn’t much to write about and other times, there is lots to update you all on. Making the linky a fortnightly feature will stop the pressure of trying to find something suitable to write about. Hopefully making my Autism related content a higher quality of writing. But also be more useful for other parents experiencing similar.
New linky is on its way-
This won’t happen straight away as it is still a vague idea, but hopefully I will be collaborating with another blogger to bring you an Instagram based linky. I will let you know more soon!
In the next couple of weeks I will be starting a fortnightly newsletter! A sign up box will be available soon. Keep your eyes peeled and please sign up if you want to stay up to date with what is going on at Sons, Sand & Sauvignon HQ.
What is happening to the wedding content?
